Sagar Kamble
Sagar Kamble is a contemporary Indian painter based in Mumbai whose practice explores mythology, nature, rural life and the complexities of human experience. Trained at the Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, where he completed his BFA in Drawing and Painting and MFA in Creative Painting, Kamble has developed a distinctive visual language rooted in both academic training and personal experience.
His works draw inspiration from mythological stories and oral traditions, which he connects with experiences from everyday life and his rural upbringing. Natural phenomena, seasonal cycles and life in the countryside often become important elements within his visual narratives. Rather than simply depicting mythology as an external subject, Kamble transforms these stories into metaphors for contemporary human emotions and experiences.
His paintings are characterised by layered imagery, expressive forms and a strong engagement with the human figure. Through his compositions, he brings together mythology, nature and lived experience to create works that invite viewers to explore deeper questions of existence, emotion and the human condition.
