Nitin Ghangrekar is an Indian painter known for his figurative works, vibrant colours and themes rooted in Indian cultural life. His practice often explores subjects such as the Gurukul tradition, rural Indian life, musicians, spiritual figures and everyday human relationships.

His Gurukul series developed from his travels and visits to traditional Gurukul schools. Rather than simply reproducing his sketches, Ghangrekar studied the environment and later interpreted his experiences in the studio, resulting in compositions that emphasise simplicity, visual harmony and cultural atmosphere.
